Public-service journalists” is a project designed to support and encourage journalists in the local media, to allow them to become role models of civic commitment in their communities.

Carried out by Freedom House Romania and funded by the Embassy of the United States, the project seeks to specialise journalists in topics such as public procurement – where there are corruption risks, to increase the level of professionalism and to strengthen the editorial and financial autonomy of local media journalists and to increase the visibility of their articles through the www.justitiecurata.ro platform.

Journalists engaged in this project are mainly monitoring the general elections in 2016 and aspects related to good governance.

Stories and reports of the “Public-service journalists” project are available here.
